Welcome to Hot House Yoga!
Written by Jimmy, John and Chris Yax

There is something about walking into that warm, relaxing room, lying down on the natural cork floors, gazing up at the sky ceiling, taking your mind to a quiet place. Away from the hustle and bustle, away from your cell phones and emails, away from deadlines and traffic jams, to a place just about you.  Welcome to Hot House Yoga!

Why Hot House Yoga?
Having been in Virginia Beach for 38 years, we feel very fortunate to share our passion with the community.  We are in our fifth year operating Hot House Yoga Studios in Hampton Roads.  Our family is committed to providing the highest level of instruction and customer service available.

Whether you are new to Yoga, just returning to your practice, or a seasoned student, we offer alignment based classes which teach you the fundamentals that will become the very foundation of your practice.

What is Hot Yoga?
This style of yoga originates from Calcutta, India; known for its hot climate.  Hot Yoga follows a specific sequence of postures created to work with the benefits of the heat.  Heat protects the muscles as they move through their full range of motion.  When practicing in the heat, endorphins are released helping reverse the negative effects of stress.  Heat increases the heart rate, which, in turn strengthens the cardiovascular system.  Hot Yoga helps your body rejuvenate itself through the process of sweating, helping release harmful toxins from your body.

What are the Benefits of Hot Yoga?
Hot Yoga provides many benefits to your health, not just increased flexibility.  Other benefits include decrease in back pain, arthritis relief, greater strength, increased focus, better balance and posture, weight loss, and stress reduction.  Hot Yoga makes you feel great!

Is Hot House Yoga Right for You?
There are two ways to find out if Hot Yoga is for you.  The first way is to try our 1-Hour Beginner Friendly Hot Yoga class. This class is an excellent way to familiarize you with the sequence of postures and acclimate to the heat.  If jumping right into a group class seems a bit to ambitious for you, our Brand New Beginners Course might be just the right place to start.  This course is a month long series of eight progressive classes that teach the foundation of Hot Yoga.  With a gradual introduction to the heat and a question and answer time offered, this class is about discovering how your body moves.

Call us, someone will answer the phone, come by and see us, or simply visit us on line at hothouseyogi.com.  We are available to answer all of your hot yoga questions.  We look forward to  hearing from you.

Testimonial

After an eight month layoff, I started running five weeks ago and I could not be more pleased with my progress. Honestly, I give hot yoga complete credit for increasing my range of motion and eliminating my subtle imbalances.

You guys have me running injury free-a feat which numerous top-notch physicians and alternative medicine gurus had been unable to accomplish. I most certainly intend to continue my yoga practice forever.
