Zumbatomic for children - exercise, self-esteem and leadership
 Written by Liz Vazquez

With the beginning of the new year  some people realize how much weight they gained during the holidays. One of the most popular resolutions is to shed that weight. As I walked into the store there it was. All of the diet supplements to help  you lose weight.

Some people joined gyms with the hope of getting in shape.. But the reality is that a lot of  people  quit after just a couple of weeks.
Why ?

A lot has been written about this topic. First, setting up yourself for failure by having unrealistic goals. Trying to drop 40 pounds in one month and looking very lean with a six pack, is not a realistic goal.

A well developed exercise program should be safe and of gradual increase. The initial conditioning stage lasting 4 to 6 weeks  the intensity  and frequency is at the lower end to help avoid injury and muscle soreness.

Improvement conditioning stage last 8 to 20 weeks . Intensity has been increased and by now most clients have seen noticeable changes.

Having a knowledgeable and certified trainer can make a big difference in achieving your goal.
To dispel several myths that might keep women out of the gym let me clarify some things.

Spot training is a myth
All of the major muscles should be worked, 8 to 10 exercises  for  all major muscles. You should combine your cardio at least 30 minutes or up to 45 minutes with strength training to help you put in more lean muscle and shed the fat from your body.  A good  Nutrition program should be in place too.

Women will bulk up if they get into strength training is a myth
That is a very misguided concept that has gone around for too long. Women have very low levels of testosterone so a program with high repetition and low resistance will help you gain strength  and put on lean muscle. Plus it benefits for the prevention of Osteoroporosis.

Make Fitness a priority in your life
I have been training women for the last 8 years helping them achieve their fitness goals.
Are you ready to achieve yours?

Zumba for children
My goal for this year is to help our children to stay active and get healthier. As a mother of a 10 year old I too heard my pediatrician tell me " Your child needs more physical activity.”

That's why I am launching the Zumbatomic program at Encore Dance center. The program incorporates dance with games . Not only will your children get to exercise but he will learn to dance to different rhythms such as Latin rhythms and more international music.

The program incorporates games that will help your child with leadership , self-esteem and social skills. Ages are  4 to 7 are Lil Starz  and ages, 8 to 11 are Big Starz. Register your child now.
