Dance Your Way to Good Health Written by Elizabeth Vazquez   Written by Elizabeth Vazquez

If you are like me you probably struggle to keep a balance between your family and career. For stay-at-home mothers it does not get any easier. Our hectic schedules make it sometimes impossible to take a 10 minute break for ourselves. As a certified Personal Trainer I come across women who would like to get in shape but lack the time and motivation. But women should also be aware of the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle.

Although heart disease was once considered a “man’s disease”, it is the leading cause of death in both men and women. Women account for 52.6 percent of the total heart disease deaths.  In 2005 heart disease was the cause of death in 454,000 females according to the Central of Disease Control.

Prevention is the key
It is well known that exercise and a well balanced nutritional program can help prevent heart disease, high cholesterol and osteoporosis.
If you find yourself unmotivated and lacking the knowledge as to where to start, it’s time to call a knowledgeable and certified Personal Fitness Trainer. She can help you achieve your goals by designing a safe, effective program to challenge you.

The benefits to exercise are:
Improved bone density helping in the prevention of Osteoporosis
Decreased body fat
Exercise helps to lower levels of anxiety and depression.

Why wait any longer!
We women spend thousands in clothes and make up to look our best.  Our health should be one of our top priorities.

Zumba Fitness
As a Certified Personal Trainer, I recognize that one of the major reasons people do not stick to an exercise program is boredom. With Zumba Toning, the large variety of Latin and international music helps you work all of your major muscles, while you are still burning those calories Best of all you do not get bored. You do not need a background in dance for this class. Zumba Toning takes the original Zumba and combines it with an innovative muscle training protocol of light weights or toning sticks. This combination of cardio and dynamic resistive exercises will help you to get in shape and still improve your cardiovascular endurance.  And above all it’s fun!

Elizabeth Vazquez has been a certified Personal Trainer for the last 6 years. She is certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is also a certified Zumba Toning instructor,  and since 1998, an American Red Cross safety instructor.
